While the light lasts is a collection of 9 short stories ranging from romance, mystery to the supernatural.

The House of Dreams
The Actress
The Edge
Christmas Adventure
The Lonely God
Manx Gold
Within a Wall
The Mystery of the Baghdad Chest
While the Light Lasts

Unlike the usual Miss Marple, Poirot or Tommy-Tuppence whodunit, this book includes stories of heartbreak (While the Light Lasts), blackmail and revenge (The Actress), jealousy and insanity (The Edge), loneliness and hope (The Lonely God), and unconditional love(Within a Wall).

House of Dreams is not the usual Christie style mystery-solving whodunit story. It is more of a supernatural story, the one that involves nightmares.

The Actress is a story of revenge and blackmail. A famous actress uses her acting skills to outdo her blackmailer. The Actress is a short story with a twist that you don’t want to miss!

The Edge is a story of love, jealousy, and insanity.

Christmas Adventure, better known as The Adventure of Christmas Pudding and, The Mystery of the Baghdad Chest, better known as the Mystery of the Spanish Chest – classic Poirot stories.

The Lonely God is a lovely little story of how two lonely people met each other in front of the Lonely God statue in a Museum.

Manx Gold is one of the best stories in this book. Written to promote tourism in the Isle of Man, this short story is a masterpiece!

Within a Wall is the story of true love and how one takes advantage of someone’s goodwill.

While the Light lasts is a heart-wrenching story of love, or rather, lost-love.

I am a huge Agatha Christie fan and this book came as a huge surprise – A paranormal story by AC??! This book clearly shows that Christie was a very talented author. I wouldn’t say that I liked each and every story in this book. My favorites include the two Poirot stories ( no doubt about that!), Manx Gold – a brilliant concept to promote tourism, The Edge – it was almost like a psychological thriller!, The Actress – love the twist in the end! and, While the light lasts – a heart-wrenching story that makes you cry!

If you like Agatha Christie’s novels then you shouldn’t miss reading this book.
