The theme for this month’s BCCC is Author(s) New to Me
This month, we will be choosing books from our “to be read” list. These are books written by authors you know but haven’t read yet. They might be books that other bloggers or friends have recommended to you. Or they could be books that you’ve heard a lot about but haven’t had a chance to read yet.
You can select a specific series or standalone books by one author and read one or two books. Alternatively, you can choose two or three authors that you haven’t read before and read one book by each of them.
If you are looking for recommendations, I would suggest you visit the following publishers’ catalog:
- Dean Street Press
- British Library Publishing
- Agora Books
- Moonstone Press
Depending on your country’s copyright laws, you can also visit sites such as Faded Page and project Gutenberg to find new books. (Free and legal downloads)
Here are few of my favorite authors. Consider adding them to your list if you wish.
(Psst. I highly recommend Bellairs.)
- George Bellairs
- Moray Dalton
- Molly Thynne
- Christopher Bush
- Brian Flynn
- Christianna Brand
- Edmond Crispin
- E.C.R Lorac
- John Rode/Miles Burton/ Cecil Waye
- Anthony Berkeley Cox
- Dorothy L. Sayers
- Josephine Tey
- Margery Allingham

I’m yet to read my July book but Molly Thynne might be a good idea for August!
I have read two of her books. She’s good. 😊
