Tommy and Tuppence are two fictional detectives created by Agatha Christie. They are a married couple who solve mysteries and spy cases in different periods of the 20th century. They first appeared in the novel The Secret Adversary, and their last appearance was in the novel Postern of Fate. They also starred in a collection of short stories called Partners in Crime.

Tommy and Tuppence are clever detectives who solve crimes using aliases and disguises. They have a loyal assistant named Albert who helps them in various ways. They age realistically throughout the series – from young adults in their twenties in The Secret Adversary to elderly people in Postern of Fate. They have three children: twins Deborah and Derek, and an adopted daughter named Betty.

#1: The Secret Adversary

First published in 1922.

Tommy and Tuppence, childhood friends in London, start a detective agency. They get involved in a case about missing papers and must work together to find Jane Finn and Mr Brown. Along the way, they make unexpected allies and face dangerous situations.


#2: Partners in Crime

First published in 1929.

Tuppence and her husband are given the opportunity to watch over a detective agency and solve mysterious cases. They encounter a range of intriguing situations, such as stolen items, missing people, and even unusual murders.

#3: N or M?

First published in 1941.

In this story, Tommy and Tuppence Beresford, detectives during World War II, feel frustrated by their limited involvement in the war effort. However, Tommy’s distance from British Intelligence makes him the perfect candidate to investigate a mysterious deathbed message. Tuppence, determined not to be left behind, uses her skills to help Tommy in their mission.

#4: By the Pricking of my Thumbs

First published in 1968.

In this story, a couple visits Tommy’s Aunt Ada in a nursing home called Sunny Ridge. Aunt Ada is not happy and the couple meets a woman named Mrs Lancaster who has a secret. Aunt Ada later dies, and Tuppence is still troubled by something mysterious.

#5: Postern of Fate

First published in 1973.

Tommy and Tuppence, an elderly couple, move to the peaceful town of Hollowquay. They stumble upon a mysterious message in a book and can’t resist the urge to investigate.
