It’s time to say goodbye to 2022! What a year it has been! I don’t know about you but for me, 2022 has been one of the most eventful years ever. I have struggled, failed, got back, succeeded, tried to just be rather than change myself/others… phew! I must be given an award for my efforts. Lol. π
The best part of this year was rediscovering my creative side. I have always been a very creative person but somewhere down the years, “life” got in the way. Trying to make my mark in the modern-day, ever-busy world, I ignored things I that loved. In the second half of 2022, I started doing a lot of art and crafts. I did a lot of decoupage work this year, transforming boring and plain looking plastic boxes to pretty lil things. DIY decors for festival season (dusherra and diwali) and much more.
I wanted to paint 4 seasons – oil on canvas. Finally, after a decade of procrastinating on it (ahem π ) I finally sat down to paint them. Took me two months to get it right but I felt so accomplished when I finished them. Over the last few days, I completed another painting project – Mediterranean sea scenes on round canvas boards.
The challenging time of this year was post-covid complications which got out of hand. Memory fog was bad – there were times when I hardly remembered what I was doing or who I was. Then, for about two months, I started losing muscle strength. I suppose this was the worst thing ever – losing grip and balance was scary. Lastly, for a few days I had both – memory fog and muscle weakness. Looks like there was a buy one get one offer going on and nobody told me about it. π Thankfully, medications helped and I recovered completely.
Reading wise, this has been a pretty good year. (Not like the tyre. π ) I read 245 books – and halfway through 246th one, which I probably might finish tonight. I rejoined blog tours. I created a lot of series in order lists, and author index pages. This is something I had in mind while creating this blog and 2022 was the year to get started with it.
I do not have any reading goals for the coming year. I still have a couple of ARC backlogs from 2022 and hopefully I will get to it by the end of January. My feedback ratio is 94% but I want to make it 100% (or at least 99%) for once. Big dreams, eh? π
So, that’s it from me. There’s probably a lot of things that I haven’t mentioned here. But, we are just hours from midnight and writing this post was a last minute decision so excuse me while I eat cake and say goodbye to 2022. π
See you all next year. Until then, hasta la vista!
Happy New Year π₯³
