As the group reaches London and are settled in Mark’s magnificent mansion, Pepper and her colleague Neil are asked by Mark to track down the culprit behind the stolen first editions from the mansion’s library. Juggling between the gin festival and tracking down a thief, Pepper has a lot on her plate. After all, the two handsome hunks in her life – Neil and Mark – have their eyes set on her. Things are going to get pretty hawt!

My favorite author Lucy Lakestone is back with yet another smashing addition to my favorite mystery series. I might be a teetotaler but this series is intoxicating! Oh my Gin! Mixologists and cocktails, costumes, a gin festival, a mystery and a dash or two of sexy romance, Jiggered by Gin is an engrossing and completely entertaining mystery.

The story begins with Pepper at a pub with a gang of football players. The Bohemia Bartenders and Pepper arrived at London on time but the hotel had an issue with the computers and they couldn’t check in until later. Turns out, the hotel had double booked. So, this means the group gets to stay at the very handsome, hubba-hubba, Mark Fairman’s mansion. Pepper gets special treatment, of course. After all, she is Mark’s special…um, wait, there’s Neil too…

Mark tells Neil and Pepper about the robbery in the mansion’s library. First edition books are going missing. Though Mark has installed security cameras and has a digital keypad installed at the library door, someone is still managing to steal the books. Meanwhile, Alistair (Neil’s frenemy) also has a case for the amateur sleuths to solve.

Where do I start? I have praises and only praises for this marvelous novel! When it comes to mixing fun and mysteries, leave it to our dear Lucy to write a marvelous concoction of a story! The spicy romance -ooh! I am really curious to see who Pepper is going to end up with. The competition is pretty strong, mind. We have Mark – the absolute charmer of a fella! He even got an Astra replacement for Pepper while she spent her time in London. (Astra is Pepper’s pet dog.) Meanwhile, Neil is acting a tad weird… well, weird when he sees Mark flirting with Pepper. Ooh, someone’s JEALOUS!

The mystery behind the robberies kept me guessing till the end. The gin festival and a virtual tour of London added oodles of fun to the story. Not to forget, Melody’s (one of the BB members) fantastic costume for the gin festival… *wink wink*

I could not identify the perp; their identity was a shocker, no doubt about that. Well, all that’s left now is to see what’s cooking between Neil and Pepper… or, will it be Pepper and Mark. Hmm, only time will tell.
