Killing Eve meets Jason Bourne in this brand new spy thriller series by Samantha Lee Howe!

You have seen serial killers being obsessed with the government agents assigned to catch them red handed. You have seen agents with memory loss go in search of those who wronged them. But have you come across a serial killer turning empathic and going rogue? Have you heard of an agent trying to bring down their handlers and the agency that was once their source of bread and butter?

Meet Neva, our cold-hearted killer who asks no questions. She receives a message from her handler – a message containing details of her next victim. Neva kills them, cleans up (buries the body and whatnot) and walks away. But when Neva is asked to kill a fellow assassin, she doubts if she would be in the same plight in a couple of years.

Michael Kensington works as an agent for the MI5. Uncle Andrew, his parents’ friend and Michael’s godfather is an influential man. Michael is transferred to the Archives department, thanks to Uncle Andrew’s ‘kind words with the agency’. He’s assigned to the case of a ruthless serial killer (Neva). Call it a coincidence or not, Neva and Michael meet. Neva doesn’t know Michael is an MI5 agent and Michael doesn’t know Neva is the serial killer he’s assigned to catch/kill.

Soon, we see the start of cat and mouse chase. Neva’s obsession with Michael ends up with Michael always looking behind his back. But this is just the beginning. Michael learns of a possible mole at the agency. Meanwhile, Neva has her doubts. Why is the Network (where she works) trying to kill her?

Just when you think “Ah-ha! I knew it!”, a twist will prove you wrong. I was hooked on to the story from the start. Nerve-wrecking, mind-blowing, teeth-clenching and engrossing thriller to keep you on the edge of your seat! Excellent character development and storytelling. The suspense is well-maintained throughout – this is the first in the trilogy so the story ends on a cliffhanger-ish.

If you are looking for a riveting read, The House of Killers by Samantha Lee Howe is THE book for you.

Many thanks to One More Chapter and NetGalley for the ARC. This is my honest and unbiased opinion.

I had never even heard of ‘Killing Eve’, to be honest, I had to add it to my list too! But I am a huge fan of psychos, assassins, and suspense. It should be great!

      2. 🤣🤣
I watched season 1 of the series and loved it. It’s about a serial killer and an FBI agent. The killer becomes obsessed with the agent.😈
