Monthly Wrap Up

I was in two minds about writing Monthly Wrap Up for the month of September. Yeah, I am two days late, whachya gonna do? *smirk*

Anyhoo, this is going to be my last monthly wrap up post. As much as people say ‘stick to a routine’, I dislike routines. Routines are boring! B-O-R-I-N-G. Okay, I guess I have made a point (or more like, a group of points there…) so let’s move on to some silly talk.

Oh yeah, I love silly talk. πŸ˜€ I hope the Daleks are busy EXTERMINATING Coronavirus. Or, spreading them. With Daleks, you never know. Two-faced buggers!

Tab 1: Hey, remember the mindfulness meditation you did this morning? Focus on your breath… focus…

Tab 2: Yoo-hoo! What are you planning to eat for lunch? How about Ragda Patties…

Tab 3: Hey, you remember what happened the last time you ate Ragda Patties? Peas, spices and fried potatoes are not a good combination.

Tab 2 (again): You might want to check the recipe online. Sounds delicious… *drools*

Each morning I get up I die a little… can barely stand on my feet… Take a look in the mirror and cry…

Tab 4: I love Freddie Mercury’s songs. Let’s start playing them in a loop. Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality…

Tab 1: I thought we were doing a mindfulness break here. Guys, Please!

Ra… ra… ah-ah-ah…roma–romama-mance…ga-ga oo-la-la…

Okay, you have had your share of laughter for the day. Advertisement over. πŸ˜›

I read a lot of interesting books in September. I have lost count of the number of books I read but let’s round it off to 25. 25 is a nice number, and so are 50, 75 and 100. But I am a human being (or I would like to think so) so reading 50 books a month is not my cup of tea or piece of cake or… um, ragda patties…

I really do not know what is this obsession with ragda patties. Frankly, fried potato patties in a spicy pea gravy topped with various chutneys and sev might sound delicious but what happens in the loo the next morning is relatable to an action-movie sequence. The explosions and fire and boom-bam, ahem!

Moving on, I had set my Goodreads Reading Challenge to 150 books this year. I crossed the mark two months ago and extended the challenge to 50 more books. (Yes, 50 is a nice number). 6 more books left until I cross the 200 mark. πŸ™‚

I took part in a lot of reading challenges this year. I suppose I have fared well in all but one – Agatha Christie Perpetual Reading Challenge. I wanted to do a Christie-only reviews in September. May be next year I will…

I will be going on a long break starting mid-October. I have a few NetGalley and Edelweiss books pending to be reviewed. After October 15th, I probably won’t be checking the blog too; Until next year. Three or four blog tour posts scheduled at the end of October will be published as scheduled.

To be Frank, I will have to change my name. But I won’t. Rekha is a nice name. It means line. Linearity is good… and so is symmetry, geometry and trigonometry.

End of advertisement.

See, I put in a lot of effort to make you guys go crazy… oops, I mean make you guys laugh. We could all do with a pinch of craziness…oops, I did it again… I mean pinch of laughter. So please, laugh. Whether you are at work or at home, laugh loudly. Let people think you are crazy! You can thank me later for this wonderful tip. πŸ™‚

All right, frankly, I need a break from reading. I read a lot of cozy mysteries this year and I definitely need to take a break. Cozy mysteries are good but the thrill of ‘what happens next’ is barely present. We could all do with a little bit of thrill in our lives, right? Wear a mask and stand in front of the mirror. If your reflection is not wearing a mask, it means there is life on the other side of the mirror. Why search for life on Mars or Venus when there is one in every mirror? Hmm, this sounds like a nice plot for the next Doctor Who episode.

Speaking of Venus, if you haven’t heard, they have found possibility of living organisms on Venus. You see what they are trying to do here? No? They are trying to prove Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus! I know right, I was born intelligent. Thank you very much!

Ra… ra… ah-ah-ah…roma–romama-mance…ga-ga oo-la-la…

For god sake! Can someone please stop the music? Now don’t start singing ‘Don’t Stop the Music’ by Black Eyed Peas! Speaking of peas… ragda patties…

Okay, I need to stop. All this crazy typing is causing my computer to hang. πŸ˜› The poor thing cannot handle crazy.

This thing called love… i just can’t handle it… This thing called love… I just must get round it… I ain’t ready… Crazy little thing called love…

I will be back in 2021. A break from reading and blogging is what I need. You guys have two months to recover from this crazy post. Don’t forget to thank me for taking a break. πŸ˜›

I won’t be hosting blog tours any more. The ones I have already accepted will be posted but no more new tours. Thinga have changed in the past two months and I really need to take a break from social media.

Btw, I found a treasure trove. 560+ mystery classics in one ebook. πŸ˜€ Ethel Lina White, Anne Hayes, Austin Freeman, J.S.Fletcher, G.K.C, Conan Doyle and many more. Did I mention there are 560+ stories in the book? πŸ˜€ I had purchased this book from Kindle store three years ago. It’s still available if you guys are interested. The book’s called British Mysteries Ultimate Collection.

I also have the Best Books of 2020 list up on the blog if you guys are interested.

See you in 2021. Hasta la Pasta and Pizza!
