A Cornish Daisy’s Kiss is the sixth book in A Little Hotel in Cornwall series.

From the previous book: Maisie went to London and Paris with her favorite author/mentor Alistair Davies. She learns a terrible secret about Alistair and decides to return to Port Hewer. Throughout her time at London and Paris, Maisie felt she did not belong to the crowd she was introduced to.

Port Hewer is where Maisie’s heart lies. Port Hewer is where Sidney is. Maisie returns to Hotel Cornwall and learns things are not the same anymore.

I have been following this series from the beginning. With each book, we see Maisie and Sidney’s bond grow stronger. They are in love with each other and yet they aren’t ready to take the next step. Or rather, they do not want to hurry up things and start dating.

I will talk about the character development first. Maisie learns a thing or two about Dean and Sidney’s friendship. Their times at Oxford and how Sidney helped Dean cope up with trauma.

A new development in the story regarding one of the employees at Hotel Cornwall took me by surprise. Maisie learns of a secret. The new receptionist isn’t who he claims to be while Maisie’s replacement is a kleptomaniac.

Coming back to the series plot, I would say I am little disappointed with the way things ended in this book. Or, should I say the way things were left hanging? I wish there was a closure to at least one of the mysteries – preferably the mysterious hotel employee.

I have a weird feeling the mysterious Hotel employee is somehow connected to Alistair Davies. Maybe. Maybe not. I will have to wait for the next book to know more about this.

Keeping the best for the last.πŸ™‚ The romance brewing between Sidney and Maisie. I think this is best described in an emoji: 😍 I cannot wait to see what’s next for Maisie and Sidney. Maisie did the right thing by coming back to Port Hewer and Sidney.

Overall, A Cornish Daisy’s Dream was a good read. Lots of mush-mush and sparks flying between Maisie and Sidney. A few more details about the characters which is surely going to be explored more in the next book; I cannot wait to see what’s next for Maisie. Will she ever get to meet Alistair Davies? Only time will tell…

Many thanks to Rachel for the blog tour invite.
