One evening, a mysterious child appears at Joanna’s cabin, barefoot and bruised. The child claims she’s from the pinwheel galaxy and is here on earth to witness five miracles. As the story proceeds, Joanna and Gabriel meet often, and the little girl is the bond between them. It is hard for the duo to believe the girl is an alien. But good things happen when they are around her. As the summer ends, the little girl gets closer to her fifth miracle. But her past is catching up too.
What a wonderful story! I absolutely enjoyed every bit of this beautifully written book – Where the Forest Meets the Stars.
Ursa, the little girl who claims to be an alien, is a darling! She not only reads Shakespeare but understands it too. Wherever she goes, miracles happen. Joanna becomes to attached to the little girl she takes her on field trips. Joanna’s love for Ursa knows no limit. Gabriel Nash, Jo’s neighbour opens up to Jo and Ursa.
As the story proceeds, we get to see Jo and Gabriel’s fight with their dark past. Both have suffered in their past and they are now trying to make peace with what cannot be changed.
Ursa’s tales are far-fetched at times. The twist in the story was unexpected. But Jo and Gabriel have to pass the test the universe has thrown at them. Never give up is the attitude here.
This was definitely a charming read. Where the Forest Meets the Stars is the story of two survivors; it is the story of hope, faith and belief; belief in oneself; belief that everything happens for good.
