Rosco the Rascal and the Holiday Lights by Shana Gorian

rosco the rascal and holiday lights

Mandy and James are over the moon to hear that their neighbour block has won the prize for best Christmas decoration. Rosco, their German Shepherd cannot understand what’s the hullabaloo all about. What celebration? Woof Woof!

But where Rosco goes, trouble follows. He’s out on a walk when he sees a squirrel. So off goes Rosco in chase of the squirrel dragging all the Christmas lights along. Uh-oh!! James and his friends are waiting for the school bus when one of James’ friends, Mason, points out Rosco’s antics and calls him a dumb dog.

James and Mason might be classmates but James does not like the boy. With Mason, everything is always a competition- the one in which Mason always wins! Dejected and hurt by the day’s happenings, James picks up a fight with Mason as school ends. The boys are supposed to patrol the neighborhood together but after the fight, they go separate ways.

Rosco is sad to hear that James is sad. So Rosco decides to be the trouble stopper instead of a trouble maker.

This is a part of a series but can be read as a standalone. I enjoyed reading Rosco the Rascal and the Holiday Lights. As I read through, I remembered my school days. School events, friends and much more – I had a flashback of all these. 🙂

The story is easy to read and understand. Also, there’s a glossary of words and their meanings at the end of the book. I recommend this book to all. I enjoyed reading this book. And I am pretty sure that I would have enjoyed it had I read it two decades ago.🙂🙂

Rosco the Rascal and the Holiday Lights is a perfect Christmas read.

My Rating: 5/5
