In the previous book, the readers were introduced to two new characters – Katja and Madison. The story ended with Zak’s proposal to Ellie.

Confetti at the Little Duck Pond Cafe starts with a glimpse of some tension. Ellie is in the hospital and she hopes the patient wakes up soon. Then, the story starts from ‘six weeks ago’.

Ellie and her friends, Fen and Jaz are the wedding store, shopping for Ellie’s wedding dress. Ellie’s mum was supposed to be here but she still hasn’t arrived. Archie, the man she met at the care centre, was supposed to bring her. But both of them are missing. They are not very fond of technology so their phones are switched off. Ellie calls at the care centre to find that her mum might be missing. Finally, her mum calls in to say she’s in Ilford. Ellie is aware of her mum’s problem – the onset of Dementia.

Ellie is happy that the wedding venue is confirmed, although it is available only on the 13th of August. But Ellie’s okay with that. Primrose, a weirdo of sorts, visits the cafe. She agrees to train Maisie moo, Maisie’s dog (Maisie is Zak’s daughter). And everything seems to be going well until…

There are a few scenes which make you laugh.

Madison is known for her straightforwardness and not all like for it. It so happens that they are all chatting when Maisie points her finger at Madison and says cow! Ellie is so embarrassed about it and asks Maisie to apologize immediately. But Maisie is pointing at a real cow and not at Madison. Maisie names the cow – Winnie the mooooo. And guess what the cow’s real name is? Agatha Christie! I hope this one moos Hercule Bovine stories 😉

The story has a lot of twists. Some make you cry and some make you smile. Jaz seems to be having some health issues and this is creating a rift between her and Harry. Meanwhile, something goes wrong in Ellie’s life and might change things for her. Primrose also has a secret of her own and she’s looking for some answers.

In the previous book, the main focus was on Katja and Madison. However, in this book, the duo plays a minor role and the whole focus is on the main characters – Ellie, Maisie, Jaz and Fen.

The thing about The Little Duck Pond Cafe Series is that it is so charming and makes you feel so good that you don’t want the story to end! If you are looking for a series that makes you go awww and makes you believe that life gives you second chances, then do read The Little Duck Pond Cafe series. 🙂🦆

      1. 😀😀 I binge read the first four books last weekend. I felt like going to Sunnybrook, maybe dive into my kindle or something. 😉 How I wish that was possible, we could all go into our bookish world. 😃
